762 Tactical LowPro Operator Chest Rig

November 13, 2011

Colin over at 762 Tactical sent me one of his LowPro Operator Chest Rigs to review, so I would like to start out by saying thank you to 762 Tactical for supporting GWR.

The LowPro Operator Chest Rig can be defined as a bare bones type of rig, it carriers very little in a streamlined package. This type of rig is good for those who attend training classes or those who just like to go to the range and shoot around. This rig is also good for your emergency set up or first responder set up where you can keep all your essential items at the ready. This chest rig has 4 built in slots that will fit most AR type 30 round magazines. With 3×3 columns of PALS webbing on the left and right sides of the chest rig. This is enough space to put a small med kit, tourniquets or some extra magazine pouches. The shoulder straps consist of a padded H-harness and a waist strap to secure the rig in place. The chest rig is made from 500d Cordura which helps keep this rig on the lighter side while maintaining durability.

The padded H-harness is a really nice feature of this rig, H-harnesses are always more comfortable than the standard x configuration straps that come with most chest rigs, it evens out the load placed on your shoulders. The H-harness is standard on this chest rig while most manufacturers charge extra for a padded H-harness.

The chest rig also has a pocket that runs through the whole body of the chest rig, it is sealed with hook and loop. There are no dividers inside the pocket and I don’t recommend keeping anything with bulk inside this pocket because it may make the chest rig bulky on the backside.

The magazine pouches are made from a thick elastic, this allows the empty slots to lay flat. The elastic also keeps the magazines retained in the slots, there is also some loop sewn inside each slot for those who need added retention. The only downside with using elastic for the slots is that it makes it almost impossible to re-insert magazines one handed. This could be seen as a tradeoff for keeping the rig nice and streamlined. On the upside this allows a nice smooth reload.

If you are in the market for a high quality, lightweight chest rig definantly give this rig a look. At $64.99 the price is great for what you get. The LowPro Operator Chest Rig is available in ACU,Black, Coyote Brown,Foliage Green, Multicam and in “Retro”. All of 762 Tactical products are designed and made by Colin. He also does custom work as well. You can order the LowPro Operator Chest Rig directly from 762 Tactical’s website below.

I’ve bought gear from 762 Tactical. It’s easily worth 3 times what you pay for it.
He makes lots of AK specific gear which I like.
Buy with confidence!

Hey Beau,
Sorry about the no response? I don’t think your emails have been coming though? I don’t have any that I can find in my inbox or spam folder?

Anyway I shipped you rig a couple weeks ago? I guess it didn’t get there? I’ll check the tracking info at USPS and see what the deal is. If it didn’t make it I’ll sew one up tomorrow and get it out priority.

Hey Colin,
I just got that AK Carbine rig. AWESOME product man. Fits my M4, AK-74, and 47 mags. Very few rigs can do that well. Yea sorry about the communication problem, I was sending e-mails from my .gov address so that could’ve been the trouble. Thanks again Bro.

Let me first start of by saying that the chicom chest rig I bought from 762tactical is top notch in quality but the customer service from the owner was terrible. I first emailed him and asked a few question, all I ever got in return were one word answers. When I finally did get a response that was long then a word it all sounded good. He promised me if I ordered it on a Tuesday that he would have it done by Monday so long as nothing came up. So Thursday I emailed him asking if it was all on track I did not hear from him till Monday after I contacted PayPal because I thought I was being ripped off. I have had the chest rig now for almost 3 weeks and I have emailed him trying to complement his work but I never get a response. So if you want a great chest rig that comes with shitty customer service then 762 tactical is your place to go.
